orthern Lights 2006 took place on one of the most beautiful November Sundays Ferguson has ever seen, with temperatures in the sixties! More than 5,000 people came out to enjoy our festive theme, Holiday Hoedown: Christmas in the Old West, which included mechanical bull rides, a petting zoo, square dancing, free cowboy hats for all kids, music by the Lutheran North Jazz Band, and a very special performance by trick roper and cowboy yodeler, Randy Erwin.   Yee-Haw!

Ultimate Christmas Cookie Bake-Off

A new attraction at this year's Northern Lights was the Ultimate Christmas Cookie-Bake-Off, inspired by our many popular cooking contests at the Ferguson Farmers Market.

Judges were faced with a tough choice between 33 delicious cookie entries, but it was Heidi Lung's Toffee Shortbread Chews (perfected over dozens of batches) that finally won the $100 prize.

Heidi also took second for her Molassas Ginger Cookies, while Irene May nabbed third for her yummy Magic Cookie Bars.
